The Farlands that are most likely meant to be the five points of the black star? Khemeria, the Tawon Empire, Svorgald, the Titan Peaks, and the Wretch Lands. The members of the Pact are the Wyldrylm, Holklanda, the Kva, Kellemderiel, and Dharam. I'll take this time to show off a few extras. They just put an uppercase "A" in the center of the white star. It's almost exactly the same as the symbol used for the Pact. (Avadon has teleporters.)Īlso, if you look closely you can see the symbol of Avadon. There's another way in and out of the fortress that's pretty damn quick. Oh, and I guess there's another spoiler for you. So attacking head on would suck if you were aiming to bring this bitch down. If you want to reach the fortress without dealing with chasms and other such bullshit, you need to cross a narrow bridge to do so. Our character is crossing the bridge that serves as the only means of accessing Avadon, and the gates open up at our approach. I'll eat up space by saying that Redbeard certainly lives up to his name. Didn't really need to grab this bit, but meh. Oh, and how you'll obviously be meeting him. The way it's supposed to work out is that Avadon takes care of shit before it can snowball into a problem that would require the Pact's regular military forces. If you're an enemy of the Pact, whether it be from without or within, Avadon is going to fuck you up. It has the authority to do pretty much whatever the hell it wants, so long as it's ostensibly in the service of the Pact. You trained super hard and someone noticed how awesome you are, so you've been sent to join the ranks of Avadon.Īvadon is essentially an extralegal force staffed by the best each member of the Pact has to offer. Getting invaded sucks so they kick the shit out of anyone that looks at them funny.Īs for who you play as. The Pact's primary purpose is to keep the Farlands weak and subservient, as well as to make sure they stay divided so that they can never again pose a meaningful threat to the members of the Pact.

It calls all territory not under it's control the Farlands, and thus all it's enemies tend to be called Farlanders. This continent is dominated by an alliance of nations officially called the Midlands Pact. As they're also releasing remakes of the Avernum games, Avadon 3 probably won't come out until around 2015.

As for the planned for Avadon 3? Well, Spiderweb tends to alternate between series when releasing games. When it does, I might give it the LP treatment too. (They also have a one off game called Nethergate about the Roman conquest of Celtic Britain.)Īvadon is thus far meant to be a trilogy, with Avadon 2 set to come out this Fall.

Though you can pretty much think of Exile and Avernum as the same series, as the Avernum games are remakes of the Exile games plus a few additional sequels. Their previous series being Exile, Avernum, and Geneforge. As the above screenshot shows, I will now be doing Avadon: The Black Fortress.Īvadon is the newest series from Spiderweb Software. I'd previously covered all five of the Geneforge games. Boredom has hit me hard enough to get started on another LP.
